Saturday night next November 3 at 7.30 pm in Knock Basilica will see two of Ireland’s leading female vocalists take to the stage in a concert performance of Handel’s legendary Messiah with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

RTÉ Concert Orchestra scooped the special award for Outstanding Achievement 2018 at the IMRO Awards in Dublin last week and this talented group of musicians is due to take to the stage of Knock Basilica on Saturday November 3 at 7.30pm for a special performance of Handel’s Messiah.

A sell-out audience of over 3,000 people from all over Ireland, the UK and further afield attended an epic performance of Handel’s Messiah on Saturday last at the Knock Basilica. On Thursday last at our Lady’s Basilica, Knock, Archbishop Michael Neary gathered to celebrate and recognise the voluntary contribution of over 500 teenagers to their parish communities at the annual presentation of the Pope John Paul II Award.

Mayo was well represented in the National Concert Hall on Saturday last February 4, when the multi-award winning choirs Cór Mhaigh Eo, Ballina Chamber Choir and soprano Anne-Marie Gibbons joined forces with the RTE Concert Orchestra and Dun Laoghaire Choral Society, to perform Karl Jenkins epic masterpiece, The Armed Man.

Students from St Colman’s College, Claremorris, received their Pope John Paul II awards in Knock Basilica recently. It was a wonderful night of celebration of all the great work done by so many young people across the Archdiocese of Tuam over the past 12 months.

A Requiem Mass with music composed by Odhran O Casaide and featuring the voice of Sibéal Ní Casaide, to commemorate all those who died in 1916, will take place in Knock Basilica this Sunday, November 6 at 12pm. The special Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Brendan Kelly, Bishop of Achonry.
